We played this with a group of four, some knew each other well, some less so, and one person was completely new to the group. It turned out to be a great way to spend time together! The puzzles gave us something fun to work on as a team, while also leaving plenty of time to chat, get to know each other, and enjoy the experience.

We did this walk as a group of three. Had a really good time. Puzzles had nice interactions with the city as well as history trivias, consider spending around 1.5h. We managed to complete without many hints.

Pick a quest, unlock it in the app, walk to the start location with your team, and solve puzzles together at real-world spots around the city.
Teams are 2 to 4 players. One person buys the quest for the whole team; the rest join in the app at the start location. Each teammate sees different clues, so all of you are needed. Groups of 5 or more split into teams, stagger starts about 15 minutes apart on the same trail, and meet at the finish to compare.
It varies by quest. When we have an estimate for a specific trail, it is shown on that quest.
Whenever you want. Decide at lunch and play the same afternoon. You'll be reading clues on walls, plaques, and signs, so daylight makes them easiest to read. Light rain or cold weather is no problem; just dress for it.
Yes. Quests are tied to specific streets and locations in Zürich, so you need to be there to play. More cities coming.
A charged smartphone per player (iPhone or Android), comfortable walking shoes, and an internet connection. One person on the team buys the quest; teammates join in the app at the start.
Yes. You can unlock a quest from the app on iPhone or Android, or buy it here on the website with the same account.
If you bought on the website and haven't played the quest yet, email support@cipherwalk.com within 14 days. For purchases made in the app, refunds are handled by Apple or Google through their standard refund process.
